Dear Diary

I thought these were cool.

Still feeling a tad wonky. ugh.

It’s supposed to get up into the high 90s today. Also, high humidily. I will be so glad when fall gets here.

Here is a song I like by Abakus.

Here is another one.

And yet another one.

These are my 3 favorite songs by Abakus.

Tumblr has been acting goofy. It’s rather irritating.

I just walked into the living room. Robin Thicke is on tv singing that obnoxious song of his. He annoys me.

Dear Diary

I feel like ooky crap today. Which is strange because I hardly ever get sick (knock on every piece of wood in the whole wide world). I’m thinking that maybe it’s an improper diet. I have been eating rather oddly lately. I just feel run down. IDK. Hopefully, it will pass soon.

My room is becoming very neoplasticism-esque. It wasn’t intentionial at first. More subconscious I guess. But now, I’ve decided to make it a conscious effort. With the addition of the recent yellow it has really become very Mondrian-like. Primary colors are quite stylish. I think anyway.

I got that new Hendrix album about 3 months ago and I’m still listening to it every day. I can’t stop. I just automatically go to it. I don’t know what it is. Probably familiarity. Plus, he’s awesome. Was.

When I was watching the news this morning there was a blurb about some guy who had changed his name to Beezow Doo-doo Zopittybop-bop-bop. He got arrested on drug charges. Okay, first of all cool name. Kind of. And Second. duh. Somebody with that name is the most logical person to get arrested on drug charges. I don’t think that I would ever consider changing my name. It’s already the coolest guy’s name there is.

Today is National Radio Day.

These were the recommended tags for my blog post.

I thought the first one was funny. It was probably recommended because of that guy’s name. It has doo-doo in it. I have no idea where the third tag fits in.

Dear Diary

That’s just a darn shame about Lee Thompson Young. Rizzoli and Isles is one of my favorite shows. They say it was suicide. I don’t know. I guess we’ll see what happens with further investigation.

I got a really good deal on pillows at work today. $20 pillows clearanced down to $4.98. I got 4 of them. With my employee discount that came to 16.43. Not bad getting 4 pillows for less than the original price of 1. They’re good ones too. The indoor/outdoor cabana pillows.

Work was actually okay today. It went by pretty quick. I was busy. I’m off for the next 2 days. I really need to work on the lawn tomorrow. That is a must do. An absolutely must do.

The clouds were fabulous today. Big fluffy, billowy clouds. The kind that you can float on. Clouds the way they are supposed to be. Like on the perfect day.

If today had a soundtrack, it would be this song.

Dear Diary

I just went back and read the post I did yesterday. Man, how pitiful and pathetic did that thing sound? Nothing could be semi-further from the truth. Well, kind of.

I like people. When the act like people, that is. Unfortunately that is hard to find. Therefore, I’m not liking them too much. Sure, a few here and there. But, for the most part I come across mindless zombies living in what appears to be post-apocalyptic America. NEK. Today was one of those days. Ambling. Tunnelvision. No recognition of the fact that they are not the only people in the vicinity. Self-absorbed. Oblivious. In a trance-like state. Numb. etc. and on and on

After work and then my adverture at Wal Mart, I spent most the the rest of the day watching a Matlock marathon on the INSP channel. It’s so ludicrous how they edit that show for that channel. They bleep put all of the ‘hells’ and damns’, but leave in all of the violence and gunplay. They leave in the strip club billboards in the background with half naked women on them. I don’t get it. Okay, I do get it. It’s called the arbitrary and bizarre world we live in. I don’t even know why I begin to try and even figure any of it out. It’s unfigureoutable.

Also, I watched Big Brother. ugh. Those people on that show. I also watched the finale of Whodunnit. I actualy liked that show.

Work tomorrow and then off for two days. Awesomeness.

This is seriously one of the funniest things that I’ve seen in a long time.

p.s.s. I used to like Baseball. Now it makes me want to puke. My liking of football has intensified greatly.

Dear Diary

vintage photo 2Got up at 6:30. That’s actually oversleeping for me. See that picture on the left? I sure miss those days. Very rarely am I surrounded by guys anymore. 90 % of the time I am surrounded by women. It pretty much drives me crazy.

After watching television for a few hours I went to Conway with Sue. I really wasn’t up for it. I had a stomach issue. But, I went. We went to Kohl’s, T.J. Max (where I bought a Beatles iphone case), some other clothing store that I can’t recall the name of and Pier One (where I bought an indigo blue candle and reed diffuser). On the way home we drove through Mayflower. It looks the same as when I lived there 25 years ago. Drudgy and dysfunctional. What a horrid place to live. They’ve had pollution issues there lately.

I watched football for a while and then went into work. It was okay. Even though I still had some stomach issues I was able to handle it pretty well.

  1. After getting home I finished watching that extreme makeover weight loss show that I had recorded. Now, I am in bed. Back to work at 6 am.

Stamped from the dough of suffering with a heart-shaped cookie knife.

Dear Diary

Got a really cool bistro table today for 55 bucks. It was the Ashmont. Normally 220 dollars. It had some swirly scratches on the table top. 75 percent off. The lady who returned it said that it was that way when she took it out of the box. What a liar. More than likely she scratched it all up when she was putting it together. Anyway, my boss let her return it. So, I bought it at the discount. You can easily cover the scratches up with a big doily or something. I didn’t get my 25 percent discount because it’s an as is product. 55 bucks is still a really good price for it, even if it is scratched.

Getting the table was the highlight of the work day. The rest of it was just odd. It seemed like everything was out of kilter. One of those days where you feel like you’re in the Twilight Zone. I wasn’t even drugged up on sinus medicine or hungover or anything. I kept wondering, “What is wrong with me”? Every time that I listened to myself talk, it sounded like nothing that I was saying made any sense. That happens to me every once in a blue moon. Must be some biorhythm thing. IDK.

I ate at Sonic tonight. I haven’t been there in a while. I wanted to try that pretzel hotdog, but opted for the footlong instead. Maybe I’ll get it next time. Or maybe I’ll never get it.

Dear Diary

Work sure has been busy. Especially this past weekend. Work and sleep. Sunday was the worst. 17 hours. Then sleep for 4 hours and then back again. Thank goodness for coffee.

It’s the fall transition. Summer to fall. Out with the old and in with the new. Harvest, Thanksgiving and Halloween. Before you know it, Christmas. Now THAT transition is a nightmare.

I am still trying to get over the disturbance in sleep pattern. Trying to get back to normal.

Dear Diary – Melville, Key and Lincoln

Herman Melville – He’s actually half-way decent looking.

Well well, if it isn’t August 1. It’s also Herman Melville’s birthday. He’s the guy that wrote Moby Dick. I must confess that I’ve never made it all of the way through Moby Dick. I’ll get half-way through and then go, “This is boring. Why am I reading this boring book about a whale”? I know that it’s all supposed to be a metaphor for man’s struggle in life, but still…
Maybe one day I will read it all of the way through. But I doubt it. They didn’t make us read it in high school. They made us read Animal Farm and 1984.

It’s also Francis Scott Key’s birthday. He wrote The Star-Spangled Banner. Well, the words anyway. The music was already there. It was a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men’s social club of amateur musicians.
Anyway, you’d think that Francis Scott could have picked an easier song to put the words to. If something is going to be your National Anthem then why would you set it to music that people are going to butcher every time they sing it? Beats me. Personally, as far as the National Anthem is concerned, I prefer the Jimi Hendrix version that he performed at Woodstock the best. Everytime I listen to it I’m like, “Yeah, this is what America is”.

I never made it to Woodstock. I was only 12. I didn’t have a driver’s license yet. Plus, my parent’s were like, “NO”. I had to settle for the album that later came out. My friends would come over and we would listen to the “Fish Cheer” by Country Joe McDonald. I always thought it was stupid that they called it the “Fish Cheer”. Later on it was changed to the “Fuck Cheer”.

It’s also Robert Todd Lincoln’s birthday. He was Abe’s son.
Here’s the weird thing about Robert.

Robert Lincoln was coincidentally either present or nearby when three presidential assassinations occurred.

  • Lincoln was not present at his father’s assassination. But he was nearby and arrived at Ford’s Theater shortly after his father was shot. Robert attended his father’s deathbed at Petersen House, where the President was removed to after the shooting.
  • At President James A. Garfield’s invitation, Lincoln was at the Sixth Street Train Station in Washington, D.C., where the President was shot by Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881, and was an eyewitness to the event. Lincoln was serving as Garfield’s Secretary of War at the time.
  • At President William McKinley’s invitation, Lincoln was at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, where the President was shot by Leon Czolgosz on September 6, 1901, though he was not an eyewitness to the event.

Lincoln himself recognized the frequency of these coincidences. He is said to have refused a later presidential invitation with the comment “No, I’m not going, and they’d better not ask me, because there is a certain fatality about presidential functions when I am present.”

Weird, huh.

In non-birthday news, it’s humid. Super-humid. I was out in the sun for 5 hours earlier today. Thought I was gonna get heat stroke. I had to do the truck at work and we’re getting all of this Halloween crap in. ugh. Fuckin’ glitter everywhere. I was at Hobby Lobby last month and they already had their Christmas stuff out.

Anyway, IBD.

Dear Diary

Today was more irritating that normal. People got on my nerves more. It was mostly work related, so it’s really not even worth talking about.

I have the house to myself for 3 days. yay.

I have the same pillow that they do on Big Brother.
bb pillow 1
bb pillow

I see it every time I watch the show.

I have to go in at 6 tomorrow. That means up at 4:30. It’s not too bad. I do it every Thursday.

The news has been bizarre lately. The whole Weiner thing is laughable. What is his deal? Is he really that obnoxious and stupid and deluded? And then there’s that other guy. I can’t remember his name. He’s stuck in some kind of time warp. Just because you grew up in a different time doesn’t mean that you have to do the same crap that they did back then. What is wrong with these politicians? It’s like they’ve all gone crazy. I know it’s always been that way, so…

Also, if you’re gay, don’t protest in Russia. All of a sudden they’re all Hitler nazi about it.

There’s other crap in the news, but it’s pretty much the same old recycled crap. They have to keep reminding us what a stupid animal man is.
